The independent gallery Gitte Bohr opened in Berlin-Neukölln in 2010, and is now hosted by West Germany in Berlin-Kreuzberg. A group of artists, art theorists and curators are developing a program, which deals with content that occasionally have a hard time entering the commercial mainstream galleries. Gitte Bohr organises solo- and group exhibitions, talks, discussions, screenings, etc. The focus is on positions, which examine to immediate political and social questions, or, which relate to the of avant-garde art’s historical positioning as being opposed to consensual bourgeois culture.
