Launched at the beginning of 2005, upstairs berlin’s exhibition space is located on Am Kupfergraben 10 facing Museum Island in central Berlin. The gallery is directed by its cofounders Harriet Haeussler and Aeneas Bastian. Upstairs berlin’s programme concentrates on modern and contemporary art. The gallery exhibits both German and international artists of our time and promotes the long-term development of their artistic careers. Selected 20th century positions are regularly presented in solo exhibitions.

In addition to the solo exhibitions of the artists, thematic group exhibitions as well as the collaboration with international galleries, foundations, institutions and curators shape the profile of the gallery.

Upstairs berlin also has a professional and customised service for advising individuals and businesses on acquiring 20th and 21st century art.
