Decad is a not-for-profit art space with a focus on the reciprocity between contemporary art, critical discourse and public space. While its programme consists predominantly of lectures and artist talks, Decad also hosts the occasional exhibition, each organised by a different guest curator, as well as maintaining a growing research library which is open to independent researchers. By these various means, Decad provides a platform for the discussion of visual cultures' relationships to social spaces via projects involving disparate modes and practices.
Decad will launch a sister project, Press LMP, in August 2015. Press LMP will produce open-access PDF-format books on contemporary art, architecture and urbanism. In 2016, Decad will begin to commission works by international artists for installation in public spaces around Berlin.
