Espace Surplus is an utopian space, dedicated to the art of the future.
Fine Arts meet film and architecture, urbanity, literature and music, gender, feminism, society and politics in a practical, conceptual, ideal, physical or technical way. The result of this encounter will be a very concrete and tangible solo exhibition. The themes ask the questions, the exhibition should be the place to look for an answer – better still, for new and unheard of questions.
The direction of our (re-)search will always remain clear: nothing less than the future of art, the art of the day after tomorrow. Where is the whole thing going to? What is moving it? What's new and what's changing? What else?
The project is an utopia in two senses: future art and future art collectors. We stand also for the passion of collecting art and we want to share it.
Beside the central exhibition we will produce in each case a series of smaller and affordable artworks of the exhibiting artist. Everybody should be a collector. The most reasonable and sophisticated way of spending money. Highly challenging and pleasing at the same time, the beauty of utopia is to be discovered!
