A journey through the world of the Wunderkammer
with Thomas Olbricht, collector, and Georg Laue, art historian and art dealer.
A crocodile hanging from the ceiling, an ivory cabinet with scientific objects, precious items made of mother of pearl, amber and coconut: an unusual combination? What seems strange to us today was very typical of the cabinets of arts and marvels in the Renaissance and Baroque periods. Thomas Olbricht and Georg Laue are joined by Corinne von Lebusa, a contemporary artist featured in the Olbricht Collection, to discuss the meaning and exhibition principles behind this historical form of collecting.
