Alaric Hobbs explains his intricate pencil drawings at LiTE-HAUS Galerie + Projektraum on Berlin Art Grid

Artist Talk Alaric Hobbs explains his intricate pencil drawings

Artists: alaric hobbs
Genres: drawing, illustration, drawing geometric subjects

LiTE-HAUS welcomes English artist Alaric Hobbs' detailed and mesmerizing illustrations. Hobbs holds a degree in Contemporary Crafts at Falmouth University in Cornwall. He ignited his passion for drawing using a simple tool: a pencil. Throughout his sculptural and two-dimensional work he noticed how geometry was subconsciously evident. Combining the geometric knowledge he gained at University with various influential illustrative styles, he aims to portray a number of illustrations in geometric forms that have been influenced from something he finds fascinating in the world, such as tribal symbols, ancient alphabets, symbols of belief and the beauty of the natural world. Hobbs states "Personally, I don't feel art should look pretty, it should influence too."
