The birthplace of Davide Eron Salvadei, Rimini, as described by Fellini in his movie Amarcord, is a curious Italian city that is shaped by an annually repeated contrast between the summer when the city is saturated with cosmopolitan tourists and colors and contaminated by culture, and the winter when the city and its habitants return to traditional customs within a suggestive landscape left behind in the foggy cold.

This same dialectic is projected into Eron, the Graffiti Artist, and Davide Salvadei, the painter, forming a curious unit that characterises this artist and confirmes him a novelty in contemporary art.

In Salvadei’s paintings his past as a Graffiti Writer is ever present through the use of the spray can, reaching curious dirty and nebulous effects, which, watched from a distance, become almost photographic. However, after years of using this technique, following his admiration for the great masters of painting such as William Turner, today, with his recent work Mindscape, Salvadei brings back to his paintings another magical element of graffiti: The gestural stroke that emerges in the moment when the spray paint is spontaneously splashed onto the wall. Fast night “attacks” against walls and a rudimentary tool like the spray can, forced young people to exercise determined and strong strokes that reveal, as a signature, the inimitable personality of each. In his artistic maturity, Davide Eron Salvadei rediscovers this resource, reaching almost an abstract expressionism. His "mental landscape", leaves little by little the figurative, creating with strong strokes, suggestive atmospheres, loaded with nostalgia, anguish, mysteries and mystical lights of hope. Another element that is used by the Graffiti Artist is the freedom of movement in an unlimited space. In fact, the landscapes of Salvadei tries to exceed the dimensions of the canvas, however, the frantic circular movements create an infinite fixation on the interior of the work where the point of maximum focus is the distant light. In some paintings Salvadei includes human figures which have a strong thematic eloquence to support his intention and serve to engage in the spiral shift towards the interior of the mystic light. Scribbles and Memories in Berlin, can be considered a sample representing the multiple training, the technique, the thought and the soul of Davide Eron Salvadei.
