light-art installations by multidisciplinary artists from all over Europe, curated by Dariya Susak
On March 25th 2017 the symbolic switching off of the lighting between 20:30 and 21:30 local time is going to draw attention to the unnecessary energy consumption. "Earth Hour" is the name of this environmental protection initiative organized by the WWF. In 2017 the "deLight" project is also going to participate in this worldwide action and offer visitors the opportunity to become a part of it. "deLight" is a light-art festival that will take place in Berlin for the very first time. The concept of ecology, which is difficult to conceive, will be made visible through artistic praxis at the festival with the help of low-energy technologies.
The "deLight" program: light-art installations by multidisciplinary artists from all over Europe, a public lecture with internationally known participants and a film screening on the subject of ecology in unexpected contexts.
During the “Earth hour" an artistic performance, the "0 Watt Show", will take place in the courtyard of "A Space Under Construction", without being connected in any way to the global electricity network. Directly after the “Earth hour” the club "Ritter Butzke" invites the visitors of the festival to an afterparty, which is also going to be provided with electricity by sustainable sources.
The third partner platform is the "Spektrum" project center, which is oriented towards science and media art. A live performance of Jiří Suchánek’s «AtomTone» will celebrate it’s Berlin premiere there.
