Im Rahmen des public discourse Themenreihe KUNST und POLITIK / “From Competition to Cooperation” laden wir herzlich ein.

Zentrum für Politische Schönheit: Suche nach dem Weg aus der Krise
Performance gefolgt durch Diskussion
Moderation: Nausikaä El-Mecky

Philipp Ruch, “Chefunterhändler” und Gründer des Zentrums für Politische Schönheit sowie Performance- und Aktionskünstler des ZPS.

An strategischen Orten, wie zum Beispiel am Reichstag, werden Objekten aufgestellt und Aktionen durchgeführt,
die mal berauschen, mal ein körperliches Gefühl von Gefahr und Dringlichkeit vermitteln. Das Ziel der Gruppe ist
die Suche nach dem Weg aus der Krise.

Am 26. Mai werden Mitglieder der Gruppe eine Performance in den
Räumlichkeiten des Vereins Berliner Künstler geben. Nachher findet ein moderiertes Gespräch
mit Philipp Ruch statt gefolgt von einer Diskussion mit dem Publikum.

∗Das public discourse Programm ist integraler Bestandteil des ARTS CLUB BERLIN, der sich mit aktuellen Entwicklungen, Konzepten und Praxisformen künstlerischer Diskurse der Gegenwart befasst. Auf Einladung des VBK gestalten Kurator/innen, Künstler/innen oder Wissenschaftlerinnen das Diskursprogramm mit internationaler Orientierung, und gleichzeitiger Perspektive auf den lokalen Kontext in Berlin. Der Schwerpunkt des Programms liegt insbesondere auf unterschiedlichen Formen künstlerischer Praxis und ihren Produktionsbedingungen. Was ist künstlerische Praxis heute und was sind Ihre Kontexte? Ausgehend von dieser programmatischen Frage wird in öffentlichen Vorträgen und Diskussionen mit internationalen Künstler/innen, Kurator/innen und Vertreter/innen außer künstlerischer Felder, die Kontextualisierung zeitgenössischer Konzepte künstlerischer Praxis innerhalb politischer, sozialer und ökonomischer Umfelder angestrebt.

Center for Political Beauty: Finding a Way out of the Crisis
Live performance followed by discussions

Philipp Ruch, “Chief Negotiator” and Founder of the Center for Political Beauty as well as performance art activists belonging to the Center.

On 26th May, members of the Center will give a live performance at the Verein Berliner Künstler. A conversation with Philipp Ruch will be followed by a discussion with the audience.

* The public discourse program is a key element of the ARTS CLUB BERLIN, committed to investigating recent developments, concepts and forms of practice in discourses of contemporary art. At the Invitation of the VBK curators, artists and scientists were asked to organize a discursive program that is internationally oriented yet at the same time retains a focus on the local context of Berlin.
The program has a particular focus on different forms of artistic practices and their conditions of production. What is artistic practice today and what are its contexts? Taking this question as a point of departure, the public discourse program seeks to contextualise contemporary concepts of artistic practice within political, social and economic settings in open lectures and discussions with international artists, curators and representatives of non-artistic fields.
