EVBG has invited New York based artist Rebecca Goyette to show her video series LOBSTAPORN in its completion for the first time in Europe. After the screening there will be an artist talk with Rebecca Goyette and the opportunity to chat and ask questions while having special LOBSTA-libations and treats. There will also be special LOBSTA PORN Pop-Up Shop.
In the different LOBSTAPORN films, Goyette takes on the role of Lobsta Girl and engages in sexual activities with various lobsta-men. In these works, she reflects on the aggressive sexual life of the lobster and the complexity and multifacetedness of female sexual desire. Her films are filled with humor and acceptance towards experimental sexual practices.
Ornately dressed up in her hand-sewn costumes, Goyette’s characters wreak havoc with traditional sexual mores in a playland where there are no experts and no actors. Their performative gestures and actions shine light on the myriad of curiosities lurking in truly intimate encounters – raw, vulnerable and at times, otherworldly.
During her stay in Berlin, Rebecca Goyette will produce another LOBSTAPORN film. Find our call for performers here!
