A Funding Structure in the Making: Cda-Projects Grant for Artistic Research and Production with İz Oztat / director of Cda-Projects Grant

berlinerpool has a pleasure to introduce İz Oztat a founder of cura bodrum residency (2008 - 1012) and a director of Cda-Projects Grant for Artistic Research and Production (2011 - ongoing) as a next lecturer on the Founding Arts series.

İz Öztat will present Cda-Projects Grant initiated in 2011 as a model that provides resources and space for the articulation of research based artistic practices. Cda-Projects Grant for Artistic Research and Production is offering a 10,000 Euro grant to support the production of an artistic research project. Each year, the grant recipient and honorary mentions are chosen by an invited selection committee consisting of artists, curators and writers. A publication of the research process and outcomes of the chosen project is produced. As well, Cda-Projects Grant supports a program of events, which aims to create dialogue and discussion around artistic research projects highlighted by the selection committee.

İz Öztat is an artist based in Istanbul. She is currently a candidate for PhD in Art Practice at Yıldız Technical University, İstanbul. She lectured at Kadir Has University between 2009 - 2011. In 2008, she co-founded cura bodrum residency in Muğla as an investigation into self-organization and non-institutional support mechanisms. She is the director of Cda-Projects Grant since 2011. Her work has been included in Second Exhibition, Arter (2010) and When Ideas Become Crime (2010) at Depo, İstanbul. Her solo shows are İZ at Maçka Sanat Galerisi, İstanbul (2012), READ/ OKU at PiST (2008), Istanbul, Love It or Leave It (2005), Ohio and Nothing Disappears Without a Trace (2004), Ohio.
