NOME is pleased to present Goldin+Senneby's magic demonstration "Acid Money" with magician Malin Nilsson. It concludes the artist duo's current solo show "Secrets of Trade" at NOME.

A magician makes us see things that do not exist: In "Acid Money", the magic trick takes place on the financial markets. Goldin+Senneby have infiltrated a secretive hedge fund in the US and recreated its short selling strategy (i.e. the practice of selling shares that one does not own). In collaboration with the magician Malin Nilsson and finance sociologist Theo Bourgeron, they have developed a magic trick for the financial markets that has the capacity to undermine the perceived value of a publicly traded company and to profit from this. Acid Money introduces the audience to this trick, and offers a special opportunity to take some magic home with you.

Malin Nilsson is a magician based at the Skillinge Theatre in Sweden. She has produced the shows "Magic: Unplugged", "The Monkey Opera", and "POP", among others. Nilsson has performed more than one hundred and twenty times at the legendary Magic Castle in Hollywood. She is regulary contracted as a magic consultant and has collaborated with the artist duo Goldin+Senneby since 2011.

"Secrets of Trade" presents key works from Goldin+Senneby’s recent interrogations of financial trading, the art market, and artificial intelligence. The artistic collaborators’ projects conceptualize ways in which these three powerful engines are entwined; how they at turns shape and respond to contemporary society while operating at a mysterious remove from the general public.
