In the exhibition INTERMEDIAL at 401contemporary, Berlin, the spirit of the art scene of the late 50s and early 60s, which Mary Bauermeister had given a platform to in her open studio in Cologne's Lintgasse, is revived to bring it closer to today - and thus Mary Bauermeister's oeuvre for the anniversary exhibition of her 80th birthday in September, be made more understandable and comprehensible. On display are works by Sylvano Bussotti, John Cage, Hans G Helms, Joe Jones, Nam June Paik, Ben Patterson, Otto Piene, Takako Saito, Karlheinz Stockhausen and Mary Bauermeister, of course.

INTERMEDIAL: Opening May 2, 2014 at 4 pm. Mary Bauermeister will be present.

SAVE THE DATE:
On May 14, at 6 pm Mary Bauermeister and Takako Saito will do a sound performance in the gallery space , followed by a discussion between Wulf Herzogenrath and Mary Bauermeister.
