NERO is pleased to present a new multiple by Olaf Nicolai. "Studio, Via Del Babuino 125, 2° Piano, 00187, Roma (1-6 Aprile 2014)" consists of a compact wooden box, containing six artist's books as well as six reproductions of the original works presented in his namesake solo project at Studio Geddes in Rome. The multiple is conceived as an exhibition in a box – a modern update of the legendary Duchampian Boîte-en-valise – which documents in a different format the works included in the show. The artist had produced a series of six drawings over the course of three days, recording the process with a surveillance camera. The resulting tapes – each of which covered the time of production of one drawing – were then given to six different people, who were invited to produce a text describing the content of the recording. The box includes six different artist’s books, each of which contains the reproduction of one drawing alongside its own description. In addition to the artist’s books, the multiple includes silkscreens of all the drawings in their original size.
