“The Apostle” is a metaphorical media-art work about the ideas of Jesus of Nazareth, which are facing new forms of interpretations under the pressure of constantly changing needs of society and institutions.

“The faith” is set to have a reciprocal dialogue with ”The apostle”. The five photographs work as a reminder of a soul of an animal in the context of different religions. “The Faith” was first displayed in 2012 Helsinki in Muu gallery. After that it has been shown in Sydney, Brisbane and Turku.

Artist Juhani Koivumäki’s media art based works has been presented in various galleries both domestically and around the world. He has sixteen years of experience in working with media art. His motivations for making films, videos, photographs and installations has been to expanding an individual’s awareness of things such as physical and emotional satisfaction or religious and political enlightenment. Koivumäki is interested in using media-art as a tool of raising collective consciousness by manipulating ideas and feelings: "Media art can be a way to reflect ideas between a collective human being and an individual mind."
